Historic first-ever Blue-White game Market Report
Spring ball ends and the offseason, if there is such a thing, begins

Going up: 1. Beaver Stadium press box. Absence makes the heart grow fonder. Or a little fond. 2. Penn State wide receivers. Everybody hates the transfer portal until they love the transfer portal. 3. RB Quinton Martin, Jr. Presumed injured as of a week ago, looked quick and sharp Saturday. 4. Jaxon Smolik and Ethan Grunkemeyer. QBs two and three, and nobody knows in what order. JF suggested Saturday the winner of this battle will play even if Drew Allar is healthy. 5. TE Joey Schlaffer. Exeter High product was 212 pounds entering college. He’s now 245, and getting some traction in the deep TE room.
Going down: 1. Spring games. Starting to feel like quaint relics, akin to sock hops and drive-in theaters. 2. Tight ends as throwers, snappers and runners. There’s only one Tyler Warren. 3. The Blue team. Here’s an hysterical overreaction: By my count Penn State’s best seven offensive linemen were on the Blue, and the Blue offense scored six points. 4. Penn State linebackers. Franklin put out an unsubtle APB for reinforcements Saturday. Expect news on this front this week. 5. Socratic dialogue. Franklin, called a fraud by a heckler (at the Blue-White game?), tries to engage heckler in nuanced discussion. Doesn’t happen.
